Gourmet cuisine in the Dolomites: between alpine tradition and contemporary taste

When the mountains become flavor

Eating is a daily ritual. But in the mountains—amid deep silences and essential landscapes—food can become something more: an experience. At Hotel Boite, gourmet cuisine in the Dolomites takes shape in a space where modern design, authentic hospitality, and well-being come together.

The culinary offer of the in-house restaurant, 942, follows the rhythm of nature. It changes with the seasons, thrives on simplicity, and tells stories of the land. Here, the table is a continuation of the landscape—crafted from wood, lit by natural light, and enriched by ingredients that know altitude and silence.

This is a cuisine that doesn’t aim to impress, but to make you feel at home—while gently opening your palate to new horizons.

Simple ingredients, genuine savours

Authentic cuisine always starts with great ingredients.

Among the region’s most iconic flavors are Piave DOP, a bold-aged cheese produced exclusively in the Belluno province, and Speck Alto Adige IGP, gently smoked following a centuries-old tradition. Alongside these, ancient grains, local honey, walnuts, and chestnuts tell the story of a mountain-rooted cuisine that speaks a modern culinary language.

The menu at Restaurant 942 celebrates local Dolomite products, respecting seasonality, short supply chains, and biodiversity. Wild herbs, local vegetables, alpine cheeses, and mountain berries are transformed into dishes that are essential—never ordinary.

Chef Stefano Puddu, originally from Sardinia, brings his unique touch: a gastronomic vision that blends the simplicity of mountain cuisine with Mediterranean inspiration. The result is a gourmet cuisine that represents the Dolomites, nourishes not only the body, but the mind.

Named after the hotel’s elevation, 942 is a restaurant as essential and authentic as its name.

Open every evening from 7:30 PM (also to outside guests), it offers a relaxed yet refined dining experience where taste, design, and atmosphere naturally come together.

The space, designed by architect Edoardo Gellner, is spacious and filled with light, built for conviviality yet remaining intimate and welcoming—ideal for a romantic dinner, a gathering with friends, or a special occasion.

Every detail is crafted to make guests feel at ease, from the architecture to the forest views.

Chef Stefano Puddu’s menu features reinterpretations of traditional mountain dishes, vegetarian and vegan options, and comforting flavors served with discreet, attentive service. Start or end your evening in the Gellner Lounge, with a cocktail or a glass of fine wine.

Tradition, architecture, and shared moments

The restaurant space is part of a visionary social project created by Enrico Mattei and brought to life by Gellner. Today, it remains true to its original spirit: a linear, light-filled room with materials like wood, stone, and concrete shaping its warmth and identity.

Dining here means stepping into history—into an architecture that’s rational yet intimate, where every detail reflects a time when the mountain was more than a holiday spot—it was a cultural vision.

Experiences that tell the story of a territory

The culinary experience at Restaurant 942 extends beyond the menu. It’s part of a broader cultural ecosystem that defines Hotel Boite and the historic ENI Village. Here, flavor meets music, art, and storytelling.

Themed dinners, guided tastings, and seasonal menus are just a few of the curated experiences hosted in the restaurant and the Gellner Lounge—part of an event calendar shaped by the rhythm of nature and the seasons. You can follow these events through the hotel’s social channels.

Each occasion is designed to let guests experience the region not only through taste, but also through what they hear, observe, and share.

Whether it’s a romantic dinner, a cultural evening, or a casual night among friends, 942 becomes the stage for a narrative where food and culture meet.

An invitation to slow down, to listen, to savor. In style.
